Some vehicles have two chips in the cluster (CPU + 8-pin eeprom chip), i.e newer Toyota has S6J3001+93C66, the mileage data stores in S6J CPU rather than 93C66.
But the new BYD (2023 HAN, 2023 SONG) mileage data is stored in both CPU and 8-pin eeprom chip.
Here we show how to correct mileage on a BYD HAN 2023 using CG100X programmer.
It’s a BYD HAN DM-i MY 2023.
Original mileage DM-i 197,300KM
Remove the cluster and locate CPU and 8-pin chip.
Locate CPU R7F701621 and EEPROM Chip 24C16.
Run CG100X software, select instrument function.
Select model BYD->HAN->2020- 24C16
Weld eeprom chip 24C16 to eeprom adapter.
CG100 will read mileage in eeprom chip automatically.
Enter new mileage you desire and save.
Now continue to change mileage in the CPU.
Select model BYD->HAN->2020- R7F701621
CG100X will show you wiring diagram to connect with cluster.
Read the CPU data. Because the mileage group number in this CPU data is not fixed, the cg100x software has not added an algorithm.
Read and send the CPU data to CG engineer/CG customer service to modify CPU data manually.
Then write the CPU data back to cluster.
The mileage has been written successfully. Remove the solder wires, solder the 8-pin chip back to the mainboard, install the instrument panel, and check if there are any errors. The instrument panel in the picture below shows the correct mileage.
Done.
