As titiled, here comes a real user review on Meredes Benz W204 ESL emulator programming.

“CGDI MB for the Win.
Today I successfully programmed an ESL Emulator for a Mercedes Benz W204.
These modules are common for Failing disabling the vehicle from Starting. A popular solution to this problem is to Programme and install an ELV emulator.
By using the Data from the Ignition switch module (EIS) we can use that data to write the ELV.
Specialist equipment is required for this process and I’m just learning the (Ins and Outs) of the process and the tools. I’ve done one before using the OTOFIX IM1 with the G-Box.
I have to admit it’s really enjoyable learning things like this. From seeing the Red light go to Green and hearing that fake noise from the emulator of the steering lock operating and then for the car to start!”

How to Solve CGDI Prog MB V3.4.0.0 Error 25E1?

Problem:

Update v3.4.0.0 has been released. However, after updating to v3.4.0.0, my CGDI MB firmware won’t update, returning error 25E1. The program doesn’t recognize the CGDI MB or serial number. When I roll back to v3.3.6.6, the program recognizes the CGDI MB and serial number.

 

Solution:

3.4.0.0 works but aslo need update firmware of CGDI MB.

What Keys to Use with CGDI Prog MB?

What key can be used with CGDI Prog MB key programmer?

Here is the clue.

CGDI MB doesn’t force you to buy or use CGDI MB keys with that device.

You can use Xhorse BE keys (with green or yellow board). Never had problems with that combination.

You can use also used Benz keys to reset them and program them. Tested many times and it works.
You can use also aftermarket Benz keys. They also working.

Only thing is to buy FBS3 keyless keys from CGDI MB if you’re doing keyless cars.
Keep in mind that keyless keys sometimes can make issues.

 

 

CGDI MB and Vediamo Program Benz used ME9.7 ECU

Tutorial: steps to program a used ecu for Mercedes Benz 272 engine (ECU ME9.7) without opening the ecu (ecu has a warranty).

1 program the ecu into virgin/brand new state with VVDI MB, Autel or CGDI MB.
2 perform offline variant coding, vin programming using vediamo/DTS monaco
3 perform drive authorization adaptation, fuel pump activate using DAS/vediamo
4 start the engine
5 perform rotor adaptation/boot strap
6 perform throttle adaptation
7 perform fuel quantity adaptation
done!..

 

If have IM608, it will also write coding, you don’t need a separate device.

CGDI MB “Request Processing Failed” Solution

Problem:

My CGDI Prog MB Benz key programmer failed to calculate password. It gave error “Request Processing Failed”. Any solution?

Solution:

1. Server is down (will recover soon)

2. Network issue.

3. Update firmware.

If still not working, in CGDI MB menu, go to Option and select region, Choose China, America, Europe One by one until it works.

Solve Mercedes W636 W639 Not Show Mileage with CGDI

Symptoms:

It is a common phenomenon that Mercedes Benz Vito/Viano, W636/W639 doesn’t show mileage at all after replacing second-hand instrument cluster.

Cluster (new type ) Eeprom: 25LC640 (25640)

Solution:

Disassemble the instrument cluster, remove dashboard, locate chip IC 25LC640, read 25640 chip data with CG100 or CG Pro 9S12 programmer

Save eeprom.

 

How to modify data:

The red frame is the mileage area, which can be changed to 0.

The blue frame is the synchronization ID (SSID) of the instrument cluster and the key, which needs to be modified according to the SSID of the current key.

For mileage to show, mileage+ssid must match EZS.

Read working key information with CGDI MB. Write down the SSID and key position

Current key position: 2

SSID:69 6F 44 40

 

The first key SSID should be 68 6F 44 40

 

01 SSID Value Algorithm

68 6F 44 40 = 97 90 BB BF

97 90 BB BF Back to front： BF BB 90 97

 

02 SSID Verification 

BF=40,  BF verification： B0 4F

BB=44,  BB verification： B4 4B

90=6F,  90 verification：9F 60

97=68,  97 verification：98 67

03 Input the following value in blue frame 

BF B0 4F BB B4 4B 90 9F 60 97 98 67

Before modification vs After modification

Write the modified chip data to cluster.
Reinstall instrument cluster to vehicle.
Dashboard shows the correct mileage, all data work properly.
Done.

Renew Benz W221 ISM with CGDI MB and Adapt with Xentry

Here is the easy way to do Mercedes S Class W221 intelligent shift module (ism) (dsm) replacement. Virgin ISM with CGDI Prog MB then adapt with MB Star (DAS) to another car.

Renew ISM

You can renew W221 ISM with CGDI MB, VVDI MB or IM608 etc

Go to Auto Computer, check the wiring diagram

Get Erase password and save

Press Erase

Renew ISM completed.

Adapt with MB Star in car

in Xentry, go to Control Unit- Drive- ISM- intelligent servo module- Control unit adaptations- Detach the transport protection of control module ISM

Press Yes to personalize the control module ISM

Control module ISM is personalized. Press YES to activate the control module ISM.

ISM is activated.

The procedure was successfully completed.
