CG100X 2023 Toyota Fronlander R7F701441 Mileage Correction

Since version V1.7.0.0, the CG100X has introduced support for mileage correction on Toyota clusters equipped with the R7F701441 MCU processor. This update allows users to synchronize the mileage on replacement instrument clusters with the original vehicle’s mileage, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Below, we’ll walk you through the process of correcting the mileage on a 2023 Toyota Frontlander using the CG100X.

Supported Models

The CG100X now supports mileage correction for the following Toyota models equipped with the R7F701441 processor:

  • Toyota BZ4/BX4
  • Toyota Platinum 4X
  • Toyota Frontlander
  • Toyota Corolla
  • Toyota Levin

When replacing an instrument cluster, the new cluster often displays a different mileage than the original vehicle. This discrepancy can occur because the mileage data is stored in the MCU processor (R7F701441). To ensure the new cluster reflects the correct mileage, the data must be corrected and synchronized with the original vehicle’s mileage.

Step-by-Step Guide to Mileage Correction

1. Remove and Disassemble the Cluster

  • Start by removing the instrument cluster from the vehicle.
  • Carefully disassemble the cluster to access the R7F701441 processor.

2. Prepare the Cluster for Correction

  • Follow the wiring diagram provided below to power on the instrument cluster.
  • Since this is a brand-new cluster, the mileage will initially display 0 km.

3. Select the Correct Model in CG100X Software

  • Open the CG100X software and navigate to:
    Instrument → Toyota → Frontlander → R7F701441.

4. Check the Wiring Diagram

  • The process requires the removal of 4 capacitors (280nF) from the cluster. Refer to the wiring diagram for precise locations.

5. Connect the Cluster to CG100X

  • Use the D1 adapter (required for reading the RH850 processor) to connect the cluster to the CG100X. Don’t extend D1 adapter cable.
  • Ensure a 12V power supply is connected to the device to power the cluster during the process.

6. Read the Chip ID

  • Once connected, read the chip ID to verify the processor.

7. Read and Save Data

  • Read both the Dflash and Pflash data from the processor.
  • Save the data to your computer as a backup before proceeding.

8. Use Built-In Algorithms for Mileage Calculation

  • The CG100X features built-in algorithms specifically designed for the R7F701441 processor. These algorithms calculate the actual mileage online, so ensure your device is connected to the internet.

9. Verify Current Mileage

  • Check and verify the current mileage displayed on the cluster.

10. Input the Desired Mileage

  • Enter the correct mileage you wish to set. For example, if the original vehicle’s mileage is 35,554 km, input this value into the CG100X software.

11. Write the New Mileage Data

  • The CG100X will begin writing the new mileage data to the cluster. Wait for the process to complete.

12. Reassemble the Cluster

  • Once the new mileage is written, remove the wires and solder the 4 capacitors back onto the cluster.

13. Verify the New Mileage

  • Power on the cluster and verify that both the CG100X and the cluster display the updated mileage (35,554 km in this example).
