CG FC200 VW ME17.5.22 ECU Speed Limit and DTC OFF

The P30C0 is a common fault code in VAG models.  The P30C0 code typically indicates a problem with the fuel. VW fault code P30C0 indicates a problem with the fuel quality, specifically “Fuel Quality – Inadequate”. This can trigger limp mode and reduced engine power. It’s often associated with aftermarket tunes or poor fuel quality.

Model example: VW Tiguan 2020

ECU: Bosch ME17.5.22

Symptoms:

EPC Light Solid with P30C0 VW Fault Code

Engine power reduced, cannot accelerate.

Solution:

If we do DTC off, the fault code can be erased and EPC light goes off. But speed cannot be increased. So we have to remove the speed limit first.

Solution steps:

1. Remove speed limit (speed limit off)

2. DTC Off

Procedure:

We can read ECU data and write modified data with CG FC200 or other programmers. Takes FC200 as an example.

Run FC200 software, select VW Bosch ME17.5.22 TC1724 ECU.

Check bench wiring diagram
Connect FC200 with ECU according to the wiring.

CG FC200 VW ME17.5.22 ECU Speed Limit and DTC OFF 2
Identify ECU.

Then we read Pflash. DTC is stored in the PFlash data.
Read and save Pflash.

(Better to back up full data in case something goes wrong.)

Then modify data. Run editor.

Speed limit off:

Find the line starting from position 31 32 32 32 2F 30 30 to 23 23 20 20 22 22, replace all with FF FF FF FF FF FF

DTC OFF
First position

search for 01 01 01 01 15, change to 01 01 01 01 00

CG FC200 VW ME17.5.22 ECU Speed Limit and DTC OFF 6

Second position
Search for FD 03 FD 03 FD 03 FF FF FD 03 00 00 00 00 FF FF to the last four bytes at the end of the next line, change to FF FF

Save the modified file.

Then write the modified data to ECU with FC200.
